Erik Bakich has added another big bat to his roster.
The Clemson Insider has confirmed Loyola Marymount transfer catcher Nate Savoie has committed to Clemson. Savoie was a first-team freshman All-American this season.
The power-hitter also earned WCC Freshman of the Year honors after hitting .300 last season with 20 home runs and 61 RBI, while slugging .675. Savoie also had 14 doubles, one triple and scored 42 runs in 51 games last season.
Savoie is just the latest power hitter Bakich has added to his roster. Mercer transfer Ty Dalley also announced a commitment this week. Dalley hit 19 homers last season and has 58 long balls over his three years with the Bears. Bakich also secured a commitment from Ryan Wideman, who hit 10 home runs for Western Kentucky last season.
Savoie is also the second freshman All-American Bakich has picked up in the portal this offseason. INF Ty Lichtenberger also earned those honors at App State after hitting .341 with 13 doubles, three home runs, two triples and 44 RBI.
