This NFL team has parted ways with a former Clemson player.
Cornerback Derion Kendrick was waived by the Los Angeles Rams on Friday, they announced.
Kendrick was selected by the Rams in the sixth round (No. 212 overall pick) of the 2022 NFL Draft.
The Rock Hill native spent three seasons (2018-20) at Clemson before playing his final college season at Georgia in 2021, when he had 41 tackles and a team-high four interceptions for the Bulldogs.
Kendrick was a two-year starting corner at Clemson after making the move from receiver after his freshman season. He was a first-team All-ACC selection in 2020 before being dismissed from the team shortly after that season.
Kendrick started 18 of the 32 games he appeared in over his first two years with the Rams before suffering a torn ACL in the first week of 2024 training camp that kept him out for the entirety of his third campaign.
Across his first two seasons in Los Angeles, the 6-foot, 199-pounder posted 92 total tackles, 14 passes defensed and one interception.
