One of Clemson’s top remaining targets has revealed plans for his next official visit.
Five-star LB Tyler Atkinson (Grayson, GA), who has been announcing his official visits one at a time, will head to Texas this weekend. Clemson got the first official earlier this month and he was the only linebacker on hand for the annual event.
“The overall visit was incredible and more than welcoming,” Atkinson told The Clemson Insider after the visit. “It was the meaning of ‘feeling like a priority.’”
“Coach Dabo is a different type of coach. I can tell he genuinely wants me there because of how I play the game and the role I can play there, but more importantly, because of the person I am. That means a lot. I can see he leads the team and the program with his heart.”
The blue-chip talent then visited Oregon before visiting Georgia last weekend.
After helping lead Grayson to a 6A state title in the state of Georgia, he was an Army-Navy Bowl participant earlier this year, while also winning the MaxPreps National Junior of the Year Award.
Atkinson finished his junior campaign with 166 tackles, 32 tackles for loss, 13 sacks, 46 quarterback hurries, an interception and a forced fumble. The 6-foot-3, 215-pounder is the top-rated linebacker in the class and one of the top players regardless of position.
