Former Clemson Tiger Announces Transfer Destination

A former Clemson Tiger has announced his transfer destination.

Marquise Henderson announced a commitment to Liberty on Wednesday. Henderson was dismissed from the Clemson football team last week.

The Tigers signed the in-state talent out of Belton-Honea Path as a member of the 202 recruiting class. After enrolling early, Henderson dealt with an injury that played a part in him missing pretty much the entire spring.

“(Practiced) like two days. Maybe? I do not know if he even got two full days in,” Dabo Swinney said after the spring game. “So, we do not know much about him… It is unfortunate. We really do not know much about him.”

Henderson was signed as an ATH, with the plan being to start him out at wide receiver.

The record-setting running back at nearby Belton-Honea Path (S.C.) High School led his team to the 2024 State Class AAAA Semifinals. He finished his high school career just shy of 8,000 all-purpose yards across 47 games.

Henderson, who also returned kicks, averaged 11 yards per rush on 577 career carries for a school-record 6,369 yards. He was listed as a four-star recruit coming out of high school.
