While most of Clemson’s 2025 recruiting class were early enrollees, there were a handful that were not.
The Tigers had three incoming freshmen who were summer enrollees in WR Ju Ju Preston, OL Tucker Kattus and DL Makhi Williams-Lee, and all three arrived on campus on Wednesday.
Preston did take part in some practices leading up to the first-round playoff game against Texas, before going back home to Virginia to finish his final season of high school. The three-star wideout reeled in 185 catches during his high school career for 3,700 yards. His 67 touchdown grabs are a record in the state of Virginia. Preston helped guide his Freedom High School team to state titles in 2022 and 2023, before transferring to Hayfield Secondary School for his final season. He left Freedom as the all-time receiving leader. Preston appeared in only five games as a senior, registering 27 catches for 501 yards and eight touchdowns.
Kattus was a three-year starter on his high school team at St. Xavier High School in Cincinnati. The three-star offensive lineman originally committed to Kentucky before the Tigers flipped him late in the cycle. He was a first-team all-league selection and named the conference’s offensive lineman of the year as both a junior and senior, and was a first-team all-state honoree in 2024.
Williams-Lee was regarded as one of the most productive defensive tackles in Georgia, registering 230 tackles, 61 tackles for loss and 26 sacks across 38 career games. Rated a four-star talent by ESPN, he was named 2024 DeKalb County Defensive Player of the Year after logging 66 total tackles, 20 tackles for loss and nine sacks during his senior campaign at Lakeside High School in Atlanta. Williams-Lee recorded at least one tackle for loss in 18 of his final 20 games, while adding 15 quarterback hurries, three forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries across that same stretch.
