A former Clemson basketball standout has signed an NBA deal.
Chase Hunter announced on Instagram that he has signed an Exhibit 10 deal with the New Orleans Pelicans. An Exhibit 10 deal brings a player into training camp with the potential to be converted into a two-way deal, which would allow him to split time between the NBA and the G-League.
Hunter just wrapped up a stellar collegiate career at Clemson, spending six seasons playing for Brad Brownell. He finished his career with the Tigers third in total points (1,789), fifth in double-figure scoring games (93), first in minutes played (4,576), first in games played (167), fourth in starts (123), 12th in field goals made (614), sixth in three-point field goals (204), 10th in free throws made (357) and sixth in assists (435).

Hunter shot career-bests from the field (.470), three (.407) and the free throw line (.866) in addition to career-highs in rebounds (103), blocks (16) and steals (48). He averaged a career-high 16.5 points, scoring 561 total points, which is good for 15th all-time in school history.
Hunter played a pivotal role in the Tigers’ run to the Elite 8 during the 2023-24 season. During the NCAA Tourney that season, he led the Tigers in scoring (17.8 ppg) and shot 50.0 percent from the field. He averaged 4.3 rebounds and 5.8 assists per game, while adding eight steals and three blocked shots. He earned All-West Region honors for his play.
For the season, he averaged 12.9 points, 2.6 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game. He shot 42.4 percent from the field, including 85.0 percent from the free throw line.
