Decision Day Has Arrived for 5-Star Priority Target

For fans of Clemson recruiting, one of the more anticipated days of the summer has arrived.

Five-star DL Bryce Perry-Wright (Buford, GA) is set to announce a commitment on Saturday during a ceremony that is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. The finalists are Clemson, Texas A&M, Texas and Miami.

Each of the finalists got an official visit, with Clemson getting one in early June and Texas A&M receiving the final one two weeks ago. The Tigers were viewed as the favorites going back to last summer, and for a multitude of reasons. With Nick Eason leading the charge, Clemson’s track record for developing defensive linemen really resonated, as did the family-like culture. Add in Perry-Wright also having a family connection to the program, and there were a lot of reasons to like the Tigers to ultimately win out.

The Aggies then gained a lot of momentum coming out of Perry-Wright’s official visit to College Station, and earlier this week, several predictions rolled in for Texas A&M. It is worth noting that on Friday, one of those predictions has flipped back to Clemson.

The Tigers experienced something similar leading up to the announcement of four-star DE Dre Quinn a couple of weeks back. In the days leading up to his commitment, predictions rolled in for Texas, but Quinn ultimately committed to Clemson, giving the Tigers a huge head-to-head win over the Longhorns.

Could something similar be playing out here? Shortly after five, we will have that answer.
