CLEMSON Clemson University men’s golf had five Tigers named to the All-ACC Academic Men’s Golf Team, announced Tuesday by the league office. Lucas Augustsson, Thomas Higgins, Colin Salema, Andrew Swanson and Rich Wills were recognized. This marked Swanson’s third honor of his career.

Swanson led the Tigers in stroke average this year with a 71.63, while also totaling the most Top 10 finishes (four), rounds in the 60’s (10) and tied for the best round of the season with Augustsson (64). Swanson finished ninth at the ACC Championship and qualified as an individual for the NCAA Regional in Amherst. Swanson graduated from Clemson in May with a degree in mathematics.

Wills, Salema and Higgins joined Augustsson and earned their first All-ACC Academic honor. For the freshmen, Salema and Wills, they finished with 73.19 and 73.55 stroke averages, respectively. Higgins posted a 73.57 stroke average. Wills and Higgins each posted four rounds in the 60’s, while Wills totaled 22 rounds at 75 or better and both collected one Top 10 finish.
