A former Clemson star shined in an NBA Summer League contest on Thursday.
After being released by the Denver Nuggets, Hall is playing with the Charlotte Hornets this summer, and he impressed on the court Thursday night against the San Antonio Spurs in Las Vegas.
First, with a few seconds left in the first quarter, Hall rose up for a massive swat of Kyle Mangas’s driving layup.
Then, in the second quarter, Hall continued to show out when he caught a pass in the paint and proceeded to deliver a huge slam dunk over the Spurs’ Osayi Osifo.
Hall’s standout performance saw him make five of his eight field goal attempts and stuff the stat sheet with 11 points, eight rebounds, four blocks and one steal in 19 minutes, as the Hornets improved to 4-0 in Summer League play with a 106-81 win over the Spurs.
Before being released by the Nuggets this summer, Hall played in 19 games for Denver this past season on a two-way contract. The 6-foot-10, 245-pound forward averaged 1.7 points, 1.2 rebounds, 0.2 blocks and 0.2 assists per game, shooting 58.3 percent (14-of-24) from the field. He averaged 3.5 minutes per game in his 19 contests.
Hall also appeared in 13 G League games for the Grand Rapids Gold, averaging 19.2 points, 12.5 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.1 blocks per contest.
Hall, 23, was not drafted in 2024 but instead signed a two-way contract with Denver, thus reuniting in the Nuggets organization with fellow former Clemson standout Hunter Tyson. Tyson was picked 37th overall by the Oklahoma City Thunder in the second round of the 2023 NBA Draft, with the pick being part of an agreed-upon trade to the Nuggets.
Hall became just the 14th player in Clemson men’s basketball history to earn first-team All-ACC honors in 2023-24. He averaged 18.3 points and 6.4 rebounds per game that season, on his way to Associated Press All-American Honorable Mention honors. His 659 points set the school record for points in a season. Hall finished his career in the top 10 of Clemson’s all-time scoring list (1,702 points).
