A former Clemson softball standout is set to begin a new chapter in her career.
Alex Brown, who spent the last two years playing for John Rittman at Clemson, will join the Florida Atlantic coaching staff as a graduate assistant.
Brown spent her first two seasons at North Carolina. After a freshman campaign that saw her hit just .157, the infielder found her footing as a sophomore, hitting .399 with four home runs and 20 RBI.
Brown then made the move to Clemson, serving as a key piece for the Tigers over her final two seasons. She hit .328 as a junior while saving her best for last. During her final season, Brown hit .413 with four homers and 35 RBI.
In the Tigers’ win over Texas in the opening game of the Super Regionals back in May, Brown played a key role, going 3-for-5 with two runs scored.
Across her four-year career, Brown hit .344 with 13 home runs, 24 doubles and 99 runs driven in.
