Top In-State RB Set to Return to Clemson

A fast-rising running back is set to be back at Clemson soon.

2028 in-state back Michael Martin II (Christ Church) tells The Clemson Insider that he will visit for the LSU game on August 30. This visit will mark Martin’s fourth time being on campus this year.

The 5-foot-9, 185-pound high school sophomore visited twice during the spring, including the Underclass Experience, then worked out at Dabo Swinney’s high school camp in June.

Prep Red Zone ranks Martin as the top running back in the state for the 2028 class. He already holds offers from Duke, Ole Miss, Arkansas, Miami, Wake Forest and Texas A&M, among others.

Clemson won’t start offering players in the 2028 class until next summer.

β€œI want it bad, like really bad,” Martin told TCI recently. β€œIt would mean everything to me. That is a really big goal to accomplish. It is home. It is really home for me.”
