A current Clemson commit is set to be back on campus later this month.
Four-star LB Max Brown (Jefferson, GA) tells The Clemson Insider he will be on hand when the Tigers begin the season against LSU on August 30.
Brown was the first player in the 2027 class to announce a commitment to the Tigers, going public a short time after picking up one of the opening offers to start the month of June. He was last on campus for a session of Dabo Swinney’s high school camp that same week, although he did not work out.
“Clemson’s always been that place that I always could just go back to and never not have a good time,” Brown told TCI in a recent interview. “It just has that small-time feel, been going there all my life. I never get tired of it. Every time I go up there, there’s something new that I like about it.”
“The people up there, they do it the right way. They don’t mess around with none of the underground, shady stuff, and they make sure that you’re going to be a better man than you are a football player. But they’re also going to make sure you’re a better football player than you were when you got there.”
Being the younger brother of current linebacker Sammy Brown, Max has been a frequent visitor to Clemson.
As a sophomore, Brown totaled an impressive 152 total tackles, averaging more than 10 stops per game. He added 14 tackles for loss, two sacks, a forced fumble and three fumble recoveries
ESPN ranks Brown No. 259 overall and No. 9 among all linebackers in his class.
