Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney met with the media after the Tigers held their second scrimmage of fall camp inside Memorial Stadium on Thursday.
Swinney provided multiple injury updates, including updates on senior cornerback Jeadyn Lukus and redshirt freshman safety Noah Dixon.
Swinney said Dixon was “trending” but has been injured for about a week.
“Hopefully we’ll get him back soon,” Swinney said. “He’s been out of the mix for about a week.”
Dixon joined Clemson in its 2024 recruiting class as a four-star prospect and the No. 151 overall recruit in the nation, as well as the 11th-best safety, according to Rivals.
The 6-foot-1, 195-pounder played six snaps over two games in 2024 while redshirting.
As for Lukus, who has been hurt, he did not scrimmage Thursday but “probably could have scrimmaged,” according to Swinney.
“He was in green [limited],” Swinney said. “So, I think he’ll be ready to go probably Sunday night, he should be probably ready.”
Lukus, a former five-star prospect, played in all 14 games last year but was once again slowed by the same nagging injuries that that plagued him before. The 6-foot-2, 200-pounder finished the 2024 season with 33 tackles (1.5 for loss), an interception and eight pass breakups. He started 10 games last season, but lost his starting spot to then-freshman cornerback Ashton Hampton late in the year.
Lukus heads into the 2025 season having logged 49 tackles (2.5 for loss), 11 pass breakups and two interceptions in 808 career defensive snaps across 32 games (14 starts).
