Did Pollack Pick Clemson to Win the National Title?

David Pollack is among the analysts who have been singing Clemson’s praises this offseason, and he reiterated how high he is on the Tigers during the latest episode of his See Ball Get Ball show.

“I’ve been all in on them all offseason,” the ex-ESPN analyst and former Georgia/NFL linebacker said.

Pollack discussed the programs he sees as legitimate national championship contenders this season, and ran through the list of reasons why he believes the Tigers are a bona fide contender to win their third national title under Dabo Swinney, joining the 2016 and 2018 squads.

“I mean, what do I need to say? Dabo Swinney – one of two coaches in college football to have a national championship – and him and Kirby Smart, that’s the list of guys with two. So, he’s doing pretty well for himself,” Pollack said. “Pretty good talent. Changed his ways a little bit and decided to go in the transfer portal. Still doing it the Clemson way, still doing it with Clemson people. And speaking of the way, the way Clemson won national championships? Elite quarterback play. Elite receiver play. Check, check, check, check, check. Because the receiver room is loaded.

“When you look at defensive line, they did it with a bunch of first-rounders that we could go through. Guys that were absolute studs. Check, check. Two first-round defensive linemen. They had secondaries, they had good ones. They had good corners that went to the league. First-round type guys. Check. Good schedule? Check. Open with LSU in a huge test, quarterback, receivers, weapons, Dabo and company – all in. That’s all I’ve got to say, bro.”

Pollack narrowed down the list of teams he thinks can actually win the national championship to three – Texas, Clemson and Penn State.

He then went one step further, picking Clemson to take home the national championship trophy this season.

“I’m just sticking with it, man. I’m staying all in,” Pollack said. “I think Clemson is just going to have a special year, and I do think that defense turns it around immediately. I think they’ve got some dudes at positions, man. At the most important positions, they’ve got some really, really good football players that are going to be a handful for a lot of people when they play. So, give me the Clemson Tigers to win the national championship this football season.”
