Instead of a “Way-Too-Early” Mock Draft, NFL Draft expert and former ESPN analyst Todd McShay released his “Appropriately Early” 2026 Mock Draft on Friday.
McShay’s latest mock draft is loaded with Clemson stars at the top.
He projects four Tigers to be selected in the first round, with all four coming off the board among the top 14 overall picks, including three in the top seven — and the top two overall picks.
McShay projects Clemson quarterback Cade Klubnik to be the No. 1 overall pick by the Cleveland Browns, which would make him the second Clemson player to be drafted first overall, joining Trevor Lawrence in 2021.
Klubnik is followed directly by Clemson defensive end T.J. Parker as the No. 2 overall pick of the New Orleans Saints in McShay’s mock draft.
McShay then has the Carolina Panthers drafting Clemson defensive tackle Peter Woods with the seventh overall pick. Of course, that would be a first, as the Panthers have never drafted a player from Clemson.
Rounding out the Clemson selections in McShay’s mock draft is wide receiver Antonio Williams (No. 14 overall to the New England Patriots).
If the Tigers were to have four first-round picks as McShay predicted, that would break the Clemson record for players taken in the first round of an NFL Draft, as that record (three) came in 2019 when Clelin Ferrell (No. 4 to Raiders), Christian Wilkins (No. 13 to Dolphins) and Dexter Lawrence (No. 17 to Giants) were selected in the opening round.
The 2026 NFL Draft will take place from April 23-25 in Pittsburgh.
