Clemson Commit Earns Player of Week Honors

One Clemson commit kicked off his junior campaign with a bang.

Four-star LB Max Brown was named one of Blitz Sports Players of the Week after helping lead Jefferson to a monumental season-opening win over No. 1-ranked Marist.

Brown finished with 16 total tackles, seven of those going for a loss, while adding a forced fumble and a fumble recovery in the 19-0 victory. He also added 36 rushing yards.

Brown, who is the younger brother of current Clemson LB Sammy Brown, was the Tigers’ first commit in the 2027 class. He announced just days after picking up his offer during the first week of June.

“Clemson’s always been that place that I always could just go back to and never not have a good time,” Brown recently told TCI. “It just it has that small-time feel, been going there all my life. I never get tired of it. Every time I go up there, there’s something new that I like about it.”

As a sophomore, Brown totaled an eye-popping 152 total tackles, averaging more than 10 stops per game. He added 14 tackles for loss, two sacks, a forced fumble and three fumble recoveries.

ESPN ranks Brown No. 259 overall and No. 9 among all LBs in the 2027 class.
