Clemson’s newest quarterback commit had a pretty good week.
It began when four-star Kharim Hughley (Gainesville, GA) was named to the Preseason All-State team by the Atlanta Touchdown Club.
Then on Thursday night, Hughley threw three touchdown passes, leading his team to a 49-7 win over Moody. Gainesville moves to 2-0 on the young season.
Hughley surprisingly committed to Clemson back in July, less than a week after picking up his offer. He is expected to be the only quarterback take for the Tigers in the next recruiting class.
“I just knew where I wanted to go. It felt right,” Hughley recently told TCI. “I knew where I wanted to be. There was really no point in taking it any further if I know I am going to go to Clemson.”
ESPN ranks Hughley No. 92 overall, No. 4 among all quarterbacks in the class and No. 14 in the state of Georgia.
Hughley told TCI last week that he will return to Clemson for the fourth-ranked Tigers’ big season-opener against No. 9 LSU on August 30.
