National Analysts Give ACC Title Game Predictions

Both of these national analysts are confident that Clemson will claim the conference crown once again this season.

On the PFF College Football Show, Pro Football Focus’s Max Chadwick and Dalton Wasserman gave their predictions for the winner of this year’s ACC Championship Game.

Wasserman believes it would be a “major upset” if the Tigers don’t take home the ACC title game trophy in 2025.

“It’s the Clemson Tigers. I think it would be a major upset. … It would be a major, major, major upset if Clemson did not win the ACC,” he said. “I think the easiest pick out of probably any conference that we’ve done here. The amount of talent is just crazy.”

Added Wasserman: “They’re the prohibitive favorite. If you’re not picking Clemson to win the ACC, you better have a good reason. You better have a darn good reason, or you just don’t like Clemson. I mean, that’s pretty much where it’s at.”

As for the ACC runner-up?

Wasserman is going with Duke as what he called a “weird sleeper” to make the conference championship game.

“Give me Manny Diaz and the Duke Blue Devils. … I’m going to take a wild card,” he said. “I’m going to take Duke as the second-place team.”

Chadwick, meanwhile, picked Clemson – his preseason No. 1 team in all of college football – to beat Miami in the ACC title game.

“I’m going Clemson over Miami to win the ACC this year. … But I think Clemson will of course win the conference,” he said. “I have Clemson right now as the best team in the country.”

The 2025 ACC Football Championship Game is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET on ABC on Saturday, December 6, at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina. The ACC Championship Game will once again feature the top two teams in the ACC, determined by regular-season winning percentage.

After beating SMU in the 2024 ACC title game, Clemson is looking to win the conference championship for the ninth time in 11 seasons dating back to 2015.

Clemson is the clear favorite to win the 2025 ACC Championship Game at +120 odds, according to FanDuel Sportsbook, followed by Miami (+400), SMU (+800) and Louisville (+800).
