Tiger Hour with Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney returned to the airwaves Monday night on WCCP 105.5 FM The Roar.
During the radio show, host Don Munson asked Swinney if Clemson came into this week relatively healthy, ahead of Saturday’s top-10 showdown against LSU.
“Yeah, we are,” Swinney said. “We’ve still got a tough couple days. This is football, and tomorrow is a tough full-padded Tuesday practice and Wednesday is another padded day, and then Thursday we’ll start to just pretty much polish the plan. So, still got some work to do.
“But yeah, we’ve been very fortunate to this point, and hopefully this team will be blessed that way.”
Swinney added that “the best teams I’ve had, they’ve had some luck” from a health/injury standpoint.
“That’s just part of it,” he said. “… The best teams we’ve had, our best players have been available for the most part, and that’s kind of the case where we are right now.”
Swinney’s fourth-ranked Tigers are set to kick off the season against Brian Kelly’s No. 9 LSU Tigers in Clemson’s Memorial Stadium at 7:30 p.m. Saturday. The marquee Week 1 matchup will be televised on ABC.
“These guys have had a really good camp, they’ve done the work, and now we’ve just got to go get the execution that we want,” Swinney said.
