Swinney Updates Health Status of Freshman DT

CLEMSON — After missing some time during fall camp with a minor ankle injury, freshman Amare Adams is back and ready to go to for No. 4 Clemson’s big season-opener against No. 9 LSU.

Dabo Swinney held his first weekly press conference of the season on Tuesday and updated the health status of the former five-star talent.

“He is good,” the head coach said on Tuesday from the Smart Faily Media Center.

Prior to being sidelined, Adams was on the receiving end of a lot of praise, from coaches and teammates alike, for how quickly he was acclimating, and he was getting some work with the second team early in camp.

Coming out of high school, Adams was ranked as one of the top players in the country. One service ranked him as high as No. 7 overall and No. 2 among all defensive linemen in his class.

During his senior campaign, the 6-foot-4, 310-pounder racked up 75 tackles, with 13 tackles for loss and six sacks, despite facing constant double teams and opposing offenses consistently running away from him.
