One of Top Hardwood Targets Set to Visit

CLEMSON — While it’s a big recruiting weekend for football, Clemson will also be hosting one of its top basketball targets.

Four-star Will Stevens (Davidson Day, NC) will be on campus this weekend. The 6-foot-10 prospect is one of the Tigers’ top frontcourt targets in the 2026 class.

Stevens currently has more than 20 offers, including South Carolina, Virginia, NC State, West Virginia, Cincinnati and Creighton.

247Sports’ Adam Finkelstein evaluated Steevens back in July.

Stevens is a budding stretch-big. He’s just growing into his body, and needs time to fill-out his frame, but he’s very skilled, smart, and plays hard. He has soft hands and touch, not just around the rim, but extending out to the arc. He shot 40% from the three-point line and 73% from the free-throw line in 10 games on the 3SSB circuit. He can even shot-fake and put the ball on the floor from the top of the key. He can post some too, with good footwork and both hands inside. He’s a good passer, who is already really intriguing playing off short rolls because he can make quick decisions and reads (1.6 assists vs. 1.3 turnovers), but also has a little floater game off the catch.

Stevens is not a naturally graceful or explosive athlete, but he runs the floor and has some deceptive mobility, in large part because he competes with a motor and will battle for spots. He’s a solid shot-blocking presence (1.8 per game) and active communicator on the back-line. His rebounding could get a bit more consistent (6.2 per game), but that and his total impact should grow as he changes his body and improves his ability to play through contact. Overall, he’s a player who is trending in the right direction and playing with confidence now, but will need time to change his body before making an impact at the next level.

Stevens is ranked as a center or a power forward, depending on which recruiting service you are looking at. Rivals tabs him No. 95 overall, No. 15 among all power forwards and No. 1 in the state of North Carolina.
