Swinney Gives Wednesday Update On Williams, Barnes

During Clemson’s season-opening loss to LSU on Saturday, the Tigers lost two key pieces to injury.

Star wideout Antonio Williams exited in the second quarter after straining a hamstring, and during his weekly Wednesday Zoom call, Dabo Swinney was asked how much he’s been able to practice so far this week.

“Just a little,” the head coach said. “We will let you know later in the week where we are.”

Junior safety Khalil Barnes exited later in the contest after aggravating a hamstring that had hampered him in fall camp. When asked his status, Swinney had a similar response.

“Same answer for him,” Swinney said.

With Troy visiting on Saturday and the Tigers being heavy favorites, the availability of those two is certainly in question for this week.
