Tigers Open ACC Play on the Road, Again

CLEMSON — Clemson hits the road for the first time this season, while also opening up ACC play when it visits Bobby Dodd Stadium Saturday in Atlanta.

The 12th-ranked Tigers (1-1) will take on rival Georgia Tech, who they have beaten nine consecutive times dating back to the 2015 season — the longest win streak for Clemson in the history of the rivalry, which dates back to 1898.

Clemson is opening conference play on the road for the 11th time in the last 14 seasons. The years the Tigers opened an ACC season at home since 2012 came in 2019, 2021 and 2024.

From 2012-2018, Clemson opened every conference season on the road. Overall, the Tigers have won nine of their last 10 ACC openers.

Clemson is attempting to win a fifth straight road game against Georgia Tech (2-0) for the first time in series history. Prior to the current four-game winning streak against the Yellow Jackets in Atlanta, the Tigers won consecutive games at Georgia Tech four other times in school history (1902-03, 1906-07, 1986-88, 2001-’03).
