Tech Takes Unwarranted Shot at Klubnik

ATLANTA — Ahead of its game against Clemson on Saturday, the Georgia Tech X account attempted to troll Tigers’ starting quarterback Cade Klubnik.

A clip of Klubnik was posted to the account early Saturday, trying to portray Klubnik as “dissing” Bobby Dodd Stadium, home of the Yellow Jackets.

“It kind of reminds me of the stadium I used to play at in high school,” the clip of Klubnik said.

However, the clip portrays something totally different than what Klubnik actually said. Imagine that, a social media account is posting a snippet of a quote, looking to drive up engagement.

When you listen to the quote in its entirety, it is plainly obvious that the senior quarterback intended no disrespect. He was comparing the skylines between the two stadiums, then went on to even mention that the venue was similar to Bank of America in Charlotte.

“I have heard it is an awesome place,” Klubnnik also said. “It is kind of downtown, you get a view of the whole downtown skyline. It kind of reminds me of the stadium I used to play at in high school. Obviously, comparing the two. Kind of similar to Charlotte, as well.”

Before he finishes up with his thought, Klubnik said he’s heard good things about the game day environment at Bobby Dodd. Part of the quote that was conveniently left out.

“I am excited to go,” he said. “I have heard they’ve got a great atmosphere.”

The two teams are set to do battle at noon, and this will mark Klubnik’s first trip to Bobby Dodd.

The entire quote can be found at the 8:20 mark of the video below.
