The Carolina Panthers have one former Clemson player on their current roster in Hunter Renfrow. Could they add another former Tiger to the team?

That appears to be a possibility, as former Clemson linebacker Baylon Spector tried out for the Panthers on Monday, according to Joe Person of The Athletic.

Spector has spent three seasons in the NFL (2022-24), all with the Buffalo Bills after being selected by the franchise in the seventh round (231st overall) of the 2022 NFL Draft.

The Bills waived Spector with an injury designation in August. The move came after a calf injury that sidelined Spector, who also dealt with a calf injury for a lot of last season. He entered training camp in competition for a backup linebacker spot.

The 26-year-old saw limited action over his three seasons with the Bills while spending multiple different stints on injured reserve. In 26 career games (four starts), he tallied 52 total tackles, two tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks and one fumble recovery.

A two-year starter in college, Spector started 21 of the 53 games he played at Clemson, finishing his career with 210 tackles, nine sacks, four forced fumbles, four fumble recoveries, three pass breakups and an interception. He was the Tigers’ second-leading tackler (85) in 2021 when he was a team captain.

Spector led the team in tackles (72) and sacks (4.5) in 2020. He also had 10.5 tackles for loss that season.
