Clemson Commit Earns Big Accolade

A current Clemson commit is taking home some hardware after his hot start to the season.

Four-star LB commit Max Brown (Jefferson, GA) was announced as the Touchdown Club of Atlanta’s Defensive Player of the Month in Georgia on Wednesday. The honor covers all classifications in the state.

Brown, who is the brother of current Clemson LB Sammy Brown, racked up 43 tackles before injuring a knee on the first play of the game on September 12. He had surgery to repair it last week. Brown also had 11 tackles for loss, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery.

While he was awarded for his efforts on the defensive side of the ball, Brown had been making an impact everywhere before his injury. Brown had 427 rushing yards, while averaging more than 10 yards per carry, with four touchdown runs. Twice, he went over the century mark in rushing yards. He also had one 92-yard kickoff return.

Brown committed to Clemson the first week in June, just days after picking up one of the Tigers’ opening offers. He was the first verbal pledge of the 2027 class.
