Clemson Opens as Substantial Favorite Over UNC

Clemson might be struggling out of the gate, but when the Tigers head to Chapel Hill next weekend, they will do so as a substantial favorite.

Dabo Swinney’s team has opened as a 12.5-point favorite, per FanDuel. Both teams are off this weekend. The Tigers are 0-4 against the spread this season.

During the preseason, this was one of the matchups many of the prognosticators were looking forward to, seeing how the game will pit Swinney against NFL coaching legend Bill Belichick. However, with both squads getting off to horrid starts, the game has now lost some of its luster.

The Tigers have won six straight over North Carolina, with their last loss coming back in 2010.

While Clemson is fresh off an overly disappointing loss at home to Syracuse, the Tar Heels (2-2) are coming off a 34-9 blowout loss at UCF. The two teams are a combined 0-5 against Power-4 competition this season.

The Tigers have not played in Chapel Hill since the 2019 season.
