A former Clemson star had to leave his team’s NFL game on Sunday with an injury.
Baltimore Ravens cornerback Nate Wiggins exited the Ravens’ Week 4 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs with an elbow injury.
He sustained the injury when he tackled Chiefs running back Isiah Pacheco in the fourth quarter and was carted to the locker room, per Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com. Josh Tolentino of The Baltimore Sun reported that Wiggins was in a sling.
The Ravens were already decimated by injuries before losing several more starters during Sunday’s game, including Wiggins.
Following the game, Ravens head coach John Harbaugh said he didn’t know the severity of various injuries.
“I don’t have any really updates on seriousness of injuries right now,” he told reporters. “There’s nothing that looks like it’s season-ending by any stretch for anybody, any of those guys. But we’ll have to look at those injuries [Monday] and see where we’re at going forward.”
Wiggins is now in his second NFL season following a strong rookie campaign in 2024 after being drafted by Baltimore in the first round (30th overall) of the 2024 NFL Draft.
In 15 regular season games last season, Wiggins tallied 33 tackles, 13 passes defended, a forced fumble and his first career interception – a pick-six in Baltimore’s Week 18 win over the Cleveland Browns. The former first-team All-ACC selection added six more tackles and a quarterback hit in two playoff games.
In four games this season, Wiggins has recorded 12 total tackles, one tackle for loss, four passes defended and his second career interception, which he returned 61 yards in a win over the Cleveland Browns in Week 2.
In his career at Clemson from 2021-23, Wiggins recorded 50 tackles (3.0 for loss), 24 pass breakups, three interceptions (including two returned for touchdowns), two forced fumbles, a sack and a blocked field goal over 34 games (18 starts).
