Some seemingly good news came Monday for the South Carolina Gamecocks’ football program?
South Carolina and Miami have mutually decided to cancel their home-and-home series scheduled for 2026 and 2027, per multiple reports.
The news comes in the wake of both the SEC and ACC moving to nine-game conference schedules. With Clemson and South Carolina wanting to keep their rivalry game intact, it’s Miami that the Gamecocks are dropping from their future schedules.
South Carolina now won’t have to play a Miami program that’s on the rise. The Hurricanes are currently undefeated at 5-0 and ranked No. 2 in the AP Top 25, behind only Ohio State.
The Gamecocks, after entering this season ranked No. 13 in the AP Poll, are now unranked with a record of 3-2 (1-2 SEC).
Clemson and South Carolina are set to square off on Saturday, Nov. 29 at Williams-Brice Stadium in Columbia (12 p.m., ABC or ESPN).
