Good News for A.J. Terrell

Good news for Atlanta Falcons cornerback and former Clemson star A.J. Terrell.

Falcons head coach Raheem Morris gave an injury update on Terrell this week, saying they feel good that Terrell will be ready to return for the team’s Week 6 matchup against the Buffalo Bills on Monday night.

Terrell has been sidelined since suffering a left hamstring injury late in the second quarter of the team’s Week 2 win over the Minnesota Vikings on Sept. 14.

“A.J. will probably be the significant one that we look forward to getting back this game,” Morris told reporters this week. “Obviously he’ll be out there practicing with us all week, and we’ll take it right up to game time. We’re feeling good about it.”

Now in his sixth NFL season, Terrell has established himself as an indispensable member of Atlanta’s secondary since being selected by the Falcons in the first round (16th overall) of the 2020 NFL Draft.

The 6-foot-1, 200-pounder started each of the Falcons’ first two games this season, tallying nine total tackles and two passes defended.

A 2021 All-Pro, Terrell has recorded six interceptions, as well as 51 passes defended, across 80 games (all starts) his NFL career so far. Before the 2024 season, he and the Falcons agreed on a massive four-year, $81 million contract extension, which will keep the 27-year-old under contract with Atlanta through the 2028 season.
