Brad Brownell has landed a big commitment for the Clemson basketball program. Literally.
Four-star center Will Stevens (Davidson Day, NC) announced a verbal pledge on Saturday, choosing the Tigers over Vanderbilt. The 6-foot-10 big man announced the decision during a ceremony at his high school. Rival South Carolina was also in the mix until late in the process.
“It was really tough, a lot of thought went into this, but I think I have made the right decision,” Stevens said during the ceremony.
Stevens took an official visit to Clemson the weekend of August 30. He also visited Vanderbilt.
“I chose Clemson because it felt like home,” he said
This is a big get for Brownell’s 2026 recruiting class. Stevens ranks No. 149 overall at 247 Sports and No. 19 among all centers. At least one service also ranks him as the top player in the state of North Carolina.
While he is still wiry and will need to add some bulk, he is already a force in the paint. He has an ability to stretch the floor and is seen as an excellent passer with really good hands.
Stevens is the first member of the Tigers’ 2026 recruiting class.
