Clemson has offered one of the top prospects in the 2027 recruiting class.
Five-star DE Anthony Sweeney (Good Counsel, MD) announced the offer on Monday via a social media post. Sweeney goes to the same school that current defenders Darien Mayo and CJ Kubah-Taylor attended.
The 6-foot-4, 230-pound prospect has more than two dozen offers, including Alabama, Georgia, Indiana, Miami, Oregon, Penn State, Tennessee and South Carolina.
Through six games this season, Sweeney has 20 tackles with two sacks. As a sophomore, he totaled 49 tackles with 7.5 sacks and nine tackles for loss.
The 247 Composite ranks Sweeney No. 18 overall and No. 4 among all EDGE rushers in the class. Sweeney is just the third 2027 EDGE to pick up an offer from the Tigers.
Clemson’s 2027 class currently features four commits and ranks No. 12 nationally.
