Before leaving with an ankle injury late in the third quarter, Clemson quarterback Cade Klubnik led an offense that scored on each of its six offensive possessions in the first half of this past Saturday’s game at Boston College. The Tigers took a 24-point lead into the locker room, as they rolled to a 41-10 victory over the Eagles at Alumni Stadium in Chestnut Hill, Mass.
The Tigers (3-3, 2-2 ACC) finished the night with 504 total yards, including 333 of those yards in the first half. Klubnik completed 22 of his 30 passes for 280 yards and one touchdown, while also rushing for a score.
Clemson’s defense held Boston College to 221 total yards, while the Tigers reached 40 points for the first time this season and won their 13th consecutive game in the series.
With the victory, Clemson retained the O’Rourke-McFadden Trophy in its series with Boston College and is now 15-1 in those games since the trophy was created in 2008. The Boston College Gridiron Club presented the Leather Helmet Award to Klubnik as the game’s most valuable player.
