CLEMSON — The Clemson Insider has the latest on Clemson quarterback Cade Klubnik, who is questionable for today’s game against SMU.
TCI was at the busses when Klubnik and the rest of the team arrived at Memorial Stadium for today’s game against SMU. We saw that Klubnik was not in a boot, but his right ankle was wrapped and he had a noticeable limp.
Earlier today, sources told TCI that as of Thursday morning Klubnik was wearing a boot on his injured ankle. We know he did not practice on Monday and was very limited on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
Clemson officially labeled Klubnik as questionable, which was reported on the ACC injury list on Friday night.
TCI was told earlier in the week that Klubnik’s ability to play against the Mustangs does not look promising. We are told that Klubnik’s status will be a game-time decision, however, Clemson is not optimistic he will play.
Clemson (3-3, 2-2 ACC) will host SMU (4-2, 2-0 ACC) at 3:30 p.m., on ACCN. If Klubnik cannot go then backup Christopher Vizzina is expected to start in his place.
