The Clemson men’s basketball program is planning to redshirt this true freshman this season.
“I think we’ll redshirt Blake Davidson,” Brownell said on Wednesday.
Davidson is a 6-foot-9, 213-pound forward from Mission Viejo, Calif. who attended Mater Dei High School (Santa Ana, Calif). He is the younger brother of current Tiger and Nevada transfer forward/center Nick Davidson.
Blake was a three-year captain in high school at Mater Dei. As a senior, he averaged 11.0 points, 6.0 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game after averaging 11.1 points, 7.4 rebounds and 2.7 assists as a junior. He has said his passing game is one of his standout strengths.
He was the No. 19 prospect in the state of California, the No. 55 power forward and the No. 239 overall prospect in the country for the 2025 recruiting class, per the 247Sports Composite rankings.
The Clemson men’s basketball team will open its season on Monday, Nov. 3 when it hosts New Hampshire at Littlejohn Coliseum for a 7 p.m. tip on ACCNX.
