Former Tiger Draws Praise from Pro Bowl Teammate

Former Clemson cornerback Nate Wiggins, now in his second season with the Baltimore Ravens, drew praise from a Ravens teammate following his standout performance in Week 8 of the NFL season.

On The KVN Show, Ravens Pro Bowl linebacker Kyle Van Noy gave a shoutout to Wiggins, who came up with a key interception in Baltimore’s 30-16 victory over the Chicago Bears on Sunday.

“I appreciate Nate,” said Van Noy, a two-time Super Bowl champion with the New England Patriots, who earned Pro Bowl honors with the Ravens in 2024.

“He’s worked really hard. He’s turned into CB1 before our eyes. He’s really been playing at a high level all year. Just gotta keep it going. He should make the Pro Bowl and be in conversations for All-Pro for how well he’s played personally, and he’s helping the defense out.”

Around nine minutes left in the fourth quarter of Sunday’s game, on second-and-10 with Chicago backed up deep in its own territory, Wiggins intercepted Bears quarterback Caleb Williams at the 18-yard line and returned the pick 9 yards to the Chicago 9.

Baltimore led 16-13 at the time of Wiggins’ interception, and his big play set up a Ravens touchdown two plays later that extended their lead to 23-13 with 8:13 remaining in the contest.

It marked the third career interception for Wiggins, who is coming off a strong rookie campaign in 2024 after being drafted by Baltimore in the first round (30th overall) of the 2024 NFL Draft.

In 15 regular season games last season, Wiggins tallied 33 tackles, 13 passes defended, a forced fumble and his first career interception – a pick-six in Baltimore’s Week 18 win over the Cleveland Browns. The former first-team All-ACC selection added six more tackles and a quarterback hit in two playoff games.

In seven games this season, Wiggins has recorded 26 total tackles, two tackles for loss, five passes defended and two interceptions.

Up next for Wiggins and the Ravens is a road game against the Miami Dolphins on Thursday in Week 9 (8:15 p.m., Prime Video).
