Former Clemson Star WR Goes off for Huge Game

Former Clemson star Tee Higgins went off on Sunday in Week 9 of the NFL season.

Higgins’ Cincinnati Bengals team lost a wild game against the Chicago Bears, 47-42. But Higgins had a huge day.

Higgins hauled in seven catches for 121 yards and two touchdowns, including a spectacular 44-yard grab along the left sideline late in the second quarter, which gave the Bengals a 20-17 lead going into halftime.

Higgins also had an impressive 2-yard touchdown snare in the third quarter to give Cincinnati a 27-24 lead, and he caught a two-point conversion pass late in the fourth quarter that cut Chicago’s lead to 41-35.

Another one of his highlights was this incredible 23-yard snag on a drive that ultimately ended with a Bengals touchdown that put them ahead, 42-41, with less than a minute left before the Bears answered with the game-winning touchdown on their possession.

Sunday marked Higgins’ ninth straight home game with a touchdown dating back to last season.

Higgins now has 32 catches for 481 yards and six touchdowns in nine games this season. He is tied for fourth in the NFL with his six receiving TDs.

Back in March, Higgins finalized a four-year deal with Cincinnati worth $115 million, with the first two years guaranteed. The 26-year-old is under contract with the Bengals through the 2028 season.

The long-term deal was a long time coming for Higgins, who has emerged as one of the NFL’s top young wideouts and been a highly productive playmaker for the Bengals since they drafted him in the second round (No. 33 overall) of the 2020 NFL Draft.

Coming into the 2025 campaign, Higgins had caught 330 passes for 4,595 yards and 34 touchdowns across 70 career regular season games, while recording at least 900 receiving yards in four of his five seasons, including back-to-back 1,000-yard campaigns in 2021 and 2022. Higgins has also appeared in seven playoff games and ranks second in Bengals history in both postseason receptions (31) and postseason receiving yards (457).
