CLEMSON, S.C. – The Atlantic Coast Conference announced today that linebacker Sammy Brown has been named ACC Linebacker of the Week for his performance in Clemson’s 20-19 road win at No. 19 Louisville on Friday.
The award is Brown’s first of the season and the third ACC weekly honor of his career, joining his double selection as both ACC Linebacker of the Week and ACC Rookie of the Week for his efforts at Virginia Tech as a freshman in November 2024. The Tigers have now garnered a total of 590 ACC weekly awards since 1968, including four this season.
Against Louisville, Brown tallied a team-high 11 tackles, including 2.0 tackles for loss and a sack. He was the only player in the ACC that week to record double-digit tackles and multiple tackles for loss.
Brown recorded his fourth sack of the season in the fourth quarter, giving him a sack in back-to-back games for the first time in his career. The sack came on a critical third down late in the game, pushing Louisville back six yards before the Cardinals missed a 50-yard go-ahead field goal attempt on the following play.
After the ranked road win, Brown and Clemson will be back at Memorial Stadium in Clemson on Saturday, Nov. 22 when the Tigers host their home finale against the Furman Paladins at 4:30 p.m. ET. Ticket information for that Senior Day & Military Appreciation Day contest is available here.
