Lawrence Gets Unique Photo Request After Jags Victory

After the Jacksonville Jaguars’ dominant 35-6 win over the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday, Jaguars quarterback and former Clemson star Trevor Lawrence got a unique request for a photo.

Jaguars punter Logan Cooke and long snapper Ross Matiscik wanted to get a picture with Lawrence to celebrate their first game in which the Jaguars did not have to punt at all.

“No punts! No punts, no field goals today. So, that’s a good day for the specialists,” Lawrence said after the game. “That’s his first time ever having that, he said. So, they wanted to take a picture in the locker room holding up the ‘0s’ for no punts.”

Indeed, they got the picture, as Lawrence, Cooke and Matiscik took that commemorative photo together in the locker room following the victory over the Chargers.

“It was me, Ross and Logan, so it was good,” Lawrence said. “That’s cool, when you can give your punter a day off. It’s the first time I think I’ve done that as well, so it was cool.”

Though Cooke did not have a single punt for the first time in his eight-year NFL career, his long snapper stayed ready just in case his number was called, according to Lawrence.

“Obviously Ross still had to stress on third down, in case we didn’t get [a first down]. He gets himself pretty hyped up,” Lawrence said.

Against the Chargers, Lawrence went 14-of-22 passing for 153 yards with one touchdown pass and one interception, while also rushing for another score to help Jacksonville improve to 6-4 on the season.

In those 10 games this season, Lawrence has completed 59.8 percent of his passes for 2,151 yards and 11 touchdowns with eight interceptions. The 2021 No. 1 overall pick has also rushed for 181 yards and five more touchdowns on 49 carries.

Up next for Lawrence and the Jags is road contest against the Arizona Cardinals (3-7) this Sunday in Week 12.
