Randall Has Been Through It All

CLEMSON — Clemson’s senior rusher has had quite a career.

Running back Adam Randall has experienced many of the ups and downs that you can have throughout a collegiate football career. Whether battling through injury, adversity, or a position change, Randall has shown he can compete with the best and become one of the best on the team and on the field.

Starting quarterback Cade Klubnik spoke to the media ahead of the Furman game this Saturday, and he shared his experience with Randall over the years.

“I’m just looking at his career,” Klubnik said. “I’ve lived all of it with him, and I haven’t worn his shoes, but I’ve seen him come in and ball out in the spring, and I thought, ‘This guy is going to start Week 1.'”

Randall came to Clemson in January 2022, and he fought hard and made significant growth within the offense. Unfortunately, in spring practice that year, he suffered an ACL injury, which prevented him from playing until a few games had already been finished in the season. He continued to fight injuries and adversity through his next three years, where he mainly came off the bench as a receiver in the Clemson offense.

Instead of finishing off his career or going elsewhere, Randall decided to stick around after the end of Clemson’s 2024 season. His intentions were different, though, as he made the full switch to running back after previously being a receiver for Klubnik.

“He’s one of the best players that we have on the team,” Klubnik said. “It’s been really cool. It has been very inspirational for a lot of guys who might have dealt with injuries.”

Randall has taken the reins fully in the running back position, solidifying his spot as the starting rusher for the Tigers. In this role, he has run 131 times for 675 yards (an average of 5.2 per carry) while bringing in eight touchdowns on the ground.

Randall will look to continue making an impact for the Tigers when they take on the Furman Paladins at 4:30 p.m., Saturday at Memorial Stadium.
