CLEMSON — The hits just keep coming for Clemson football.
Head coach Dabo Swinney announced after Saturday’s 45-10 victory over Furman, that freshman defensive tackle Amare Adams will miss the rest of the season with an ankle injury.
Swinney said the freshman injured his ankle in practice on Wednesday. The injury will require surgery, as the coach described the surgery as tight-rope surgery.
The news of Adams came after Swinney announced that tight end Olsen Patt-Henry will miss the rest of the season with a knee injury. The redshirt junior injured his right knee in the first quarter during the Tigers’ opening drive on Saturday after he caught a 12-yard pass from quarterback Cade Klubnik.
He later was seen on the sideline in sweats with a brace on his right leg. Swinney said the injury, which is a patella tendon, will require surgery.
Last week, Clemson lost offensive guards Walker Parks and Brayden Jacobs to injuries that will keep them out for the rest of the season.
