Swinney Asked if He Expects Clemson DT to Play Saturday

Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney met with the media Wednesday evening following the Tigers’ practice, his final media availability ahead of Saturday’s game at South Carolina.

Swinney was asked if he anticipates redshirt sophomore defensive tackle Stephiylan Green being available to play against the Gamecocks.

“Yeah, I do,” Swinney said.

Green (undisclosed injury) has not played in the Tigers’ last two games. He was out for the Louisville game on Nov. 14 and was then listed as available for this past Saturday’s game against Furman, though he did not log a snap.

Saturday’s game between Clemson (6-5) and South Carolina (4-7) at Williams-Brice Stadium in Columbia is set to kick off at noon and will be televised on SEC Network.

Green has played in nine of Clemson’s 11 games this season, starting six of them. The 6-foot-4, 290-pounder has been credited with 14 total tackles (two for loss), two sacks and one quarterback hurry.

In his first year at Clemson in 2023, Green played 13 defensive snaps over two games while redshirting. He was a second-team freshman All-American selection by The Athletic during his redshirt freshman campaign in 2024, when he was credited with 17 tackles (2.5 for loss), one sack and a pass breakup in 306 defensive snaps over 12 games.
