Clemson Rolls By Alabama A&M

CLEMSON, S.C. – Clemson University men’s basketball beat Alabama A&M 92-56 on Friday night in Littlejohn Coliseum.

The Tigers (7-1) had twelve different scorers on the night and all scored at least four points in the winning effort. Jestin Porter (Houston, Texas/Cypress Ridge/Middle Tennessee State) led all scorers with 14 points – his third consecutive double-digit scoring game. 

Carter Welling (Draper, Utah/Corner Canyon/Utah Valley) (12) and RJ Godfrey (Suwanee, Ga./North Gwinnett/Georgia) (10) rounded out the double-digit scorers for the Tigers and each finished with seven and eight rebounds, respectively. 

Clemson finished with a season-high 49 bench points on Friday, including Chase Thompson (Glenwood, Minn./Alexandria Area) who finished with a season-best seven points and five rebounds. 

The Tigers jumped out to a 27-4 lead nearly nine minutes into the game and led the Bulldogs at the break 52-22. The 52 points tied for the most in a single-half this season for Clemson and was the most first half points of any opening stanza. 

Clemson pushed its lead to as many as 38 in the wire-to-wire victory, eventually cruising to a 92-56 win.

Dillon Hunter (Atlanta, Ga./Westlake) helped pace the team early on in the game and throughout, finishing with eight points, three rebounds and three assists. Zac Foster (Atlanta, Ga./Woodward Academy) totaled eight points off the bench, while Butta Johnson (Huntsville, Ala./Grissom/UAB) scored nine. 

The Tigers return to the court on Wednesday, Dec. 3 when they travel to Tuscaloosa, Ala. to face the Alabama Crimson Tide in the annual ACC/SEC Challenge. Tipoff is slated for 7:15 p.m. ET on ESPNU.
