College Gameday Analysts Give Their Picks for Clemson-Carolina

The College GameDay selections are in for college football Rivalry Week.

ESPN’s College GameDay crew has made their picks for today’s matchup between Clemson (6-5) and South Carolina (4-7) at Williams-Brice Stadium in Columbia.

South Carolina comes in as a 2.5-point favorite on the spread for the game (noon, SEC Network).

Clemson is 7-2 against South Carolina in the last 10 years, with the two schools not meeting in 2020 due to a cancellation because of COVID. Clemson has won eight of the last 10 meetings in the rivalry overall, though South Carolina has won two of the last three meetings, both at Clemson. The Tigers lead 73-44-4 in the all-time series.

Clemson has won each of its last five road games at South Carolina across the 2015-23 seasons, and a win would give the Tigers six straight road wins against the Gamecocks for the first time since winning in Columbia six straight times across the 1989-99 seasons.

You can see the picks from the College GameDay analysts below:

Desmond Howard: Clemson

“That’s a tough one for me. I’m going to go with Clemson, but it’s going to be a low-scoring, ugly game. I’m going Tigers.”

Nick Saban: South Carolina

“I like South Carolina. I think LaNorris Sellers will be the difference in this game.”

Pat McAfee: South Carolina

“Give me Cocks.”

Kirk Herbstreit: Clemson

“I’m going Clemson. I think their defense will end up creating some turnovers, and I think [Cade] Klubnik wants to go out as a winner today. I’m going Clemson.”

Detroit Lions DE, former Michigan star Aidan Hutchinson (Guest Picker): South Carolina

“I’m with Saban, I like the quarterback. Give me South Carolina.”
