Swinney Gives Injury Update on Avieon Terrell

Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney met with the media following his team’s 28-14 win over rival South Carolina on Saturday at Williams-Brice Stadium.

Swinney gave an injury update on junior cornerback Avieon Terrell, saying his injury against the Gamecocks wasn’t serious and he expects Terrell to play in the bowl game.

“Yeah, I think so,” Swinney said when asked if he anticipates Terrell being able to play in the bowl game. “I don’t think it was anything bad.”

Swinney said Terrell suffered a quad injury, which kept him sidelined for most of the game.

“I think by the time, whenever that is [the bowl game], he’ll be good to go,” Swinney said.

Before leaving the game Saturday, Terrell forced a first-quarter fumble that Clemson defensive end T.J. Parker recovered. It marked his fifth forced fumble of this season and the eighth of his career.

“He made an impact when he was in there,” Swinney said of Terrell.
