CLEMSON – The Atlantic Coast Conference announced today that safety Ricardo Jones (ACC Defensive Back of the Week) and defensive end T.J. Parker (ACC Defensive Lineman of the Week) each collected ACC weekly honors for their performances in Clemson’s 28-14 rivalry win at South Carolina on Saturday.
The award-winning duo of Jones and Parker helped push Clemson’s road winning streak in its series with South Carolina to six games. The Tigers have now garnered a total of 592 ACC weekly awards since 1968, including six this season.
Jones earned his first career ACC Defensive Back of the Week selection after he recorded a career-high two interceptions (one of which he returned 12 yards for a game-sealing touchdown) and contributed an additional pass breakup in the victory. He was the only player in the nation last week to record multiple interceptions and an interception return touchdown.
With the performance, Jones pushed his team lead in interceptions this season to six, the most by a Clemson player since DeAndre McDaniel’s school-record-tying eight interceptions in 2009. Jones presently leads all power conference players and sits second in the FBS in interceptions this season.
Parker earned his first ACC weekly honor of the season and the third of his career in recognition of his four tackles, 3.0 tackles for loss, 3.0 sacks and a fumble recovery in the victory. His 3.0 sacks tied Chester McGlockton (3.0 in 1990) for Clemson’s most by a player in a game against South Carolina in series history, and in the process, he passed McGlockton (20.5 from 1989-91) for the 10th-most career sacks in Clemson history.
Parker’s 3.0 sacks were his second-most in a game in his career, one shy of his 4.0 at Pitt in 2024. He joined Vic Beasley (two) as the only Clemson players in the Dabo Swinney era to record multiple career games with 3.0 or more sacks.
Clemson is presently awaiting its upcoming bowl destination, where the Tigers will attempt to extend their FBS-record streak of 14 consecutive seasons with at least one postseason victory.
