‘Grish Killed It’

CLEMSON — Clemson used the 2026 recruiting class to restock the cupboard at wide receiver.

The Tigers signed three blue-chip prospects on Wednesday, and Dabo Swinney gave receivers coach Tyler Grisham his flowers for adding three more quality wideouts to what is already a pretty stacked receivers room.

“Grish killed it,” the head coach said during his signing day press conference. “I think Grish has done an amazing job of recruiting and developing guys. From Antonio Williams, to Tyler Brown, to Cole (Turner) and (Bryant) Wesco and T.J. (Moore), and what they have been able to do and what they are going to continue to do.”

“These are three, elite, elite, talented wide receivers.”

Naeem Burroughs highlights the class. The speedster is a fringe five-star, with Rivals ranking him No. 35 overall.  He ranks as high as the sixth-best receiver in the class, and no service ranks him lower than No. 12 at the position.

Burroughs, who is also a track star, racked up more than 4,500 all-purpose yards at the high school level, while posting a time of 10.59 in the 100-meter.

“Man, we knocked it out of the park,” Swinney added. “Just like we went to Florida in that 2011 class and get Sammy Watkins after a tough season. To go down there and get Burroughs, who I think is as good as anybody in the country. He is a great player and a great kid.”

Four-star Connor Salmin is another burner and a Top 200 talent. In fact, he has turned in times faster than Burroughs, clocking a 10.44 in the 100-meter. He earned four state titles and three All-America selections in track, and was part of a 1600 sprint medley relay team that set a national record in January 2025 (3:22.50).

Salmin had more than 1,000 receiving yards as a senior, averaging more than 17 yards per catch.

“Connor Salmin, this is a kid we got on early,” Swinney said. “He is an elite, elite speed guy. He is as fast of a guy as we have probably signed in a long time. He can run, run, run. Trains with Olympic people. He’s got national times. A big-bodied kid that can really, really go.”

Four-star Gordon Sellers is another Top 200 talent who consistently makes plays on a winning football team. Sellers was a captain at Providence Day, where he helped lead the team to an unbeaten record and a state title.

Sellers wrapped his high school career, totaling 133 receptions for 2,149 yards with 29 touchdown catches. He had 15 touchdown grabs during his senior campaign.

“Same thing with Gordon Sellers,” Swinney said. “Another big body who has a ton of diversity to his game. Coming from one of the best programs in the country up at Providence Day.”

If Clemson can hold on to the receivers already on the roster, the room should be stacked in 2026.
