Former Clemson stars Trevor Lawrence, Travis Etienne and the Jacksonville Jaguars are now in sole possession of first place in their division.
Lawrence and Etienne accounted for four total touchdowns on Sunday in Week 14 of the NFL season, leading the Jaguars (9-4) to a commanding 36-19 victory over the Indianapolis Colts (8-5) in rainy conditions at EverBank Stadium in Jacksonville.
With the win – their fourth straight victory – the Jags moved alone atop the AFC South.
“I just love that we’re coming together,” Lawrence said on the CBS broadcast after the game. “We can win no matter what it takes … It doesn’t matter. And obviously it all came together today, and we controlled the game. But I just think we got a lot of character. Coming together. We’ve been through some adversity, and we just gotta keep going. We got a lot more left.”
Lawrence completed 17-of-30 passes for 244 yards and threw two touchdown passes with no turnovers, while Etienne ran for 74 yards and two touchdowns on 20 carries.
Etienne got the scoring started with a 3-yard touchdown run at the 10:39 mark of the first quarter and added a 28-yard rushing touchdown with 12:52 left in the second quarter.
Lawrence, meanwhile, tossed a 14-yard touchdown pass to Jakobi Meyers with 2:27 remaining in the first quarter, and then evaded pressure before throwing a strike to Tim Patrick for a 7-yard touchdown with seven seconds to play before halftime.
Sunday marked Jacksonville’s 11th straight home win against Indianapolis.
Up next for the Jaguars is a home game against the New York Jets next Sunday.
