Clemson Target Commits to ACC Foe

CLEMSON — Clemson has only offered a handful of safeties in the 2027 class, and one of those is heading elsewhere.

Four-star Marquis Bryant (Rolesville, NC) announced a commitment to North Carolina on Tuesday, choosing the Tar Heels over his other 11 finalists that included Clemson, Rutgers, Nebraska, Texas A&M, North Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, Florida State, Notre Dame, NC State, Ohio State and Indiana.

Bryant picked up an offer from Clemson back in June after working out at camp, then returned to campus for the season-opener against LSU.

As a senior, Bryant picked off six passes, had three passes defended and forced a fumble. The Rivals Industry Rankings slots the 6-foot defensive back No. 169 overall, No. 17 among all safeties in the class and No. 8 in the state of North Carolina.

The Tigers have already landed one safety in the 2027 class. Three-star Harrison Luke, the son of offensive line coach Matt Luke, committed to the program back in the summer.
