Klubnik Updates Thumb Injury

CLEMSON — Clemson quarterback Cade Klubnik addressed his thumb injury following Wednesday’s practice behind the Allen Reeves Football Complex in Clemson.

Klubnik was not throwing the football in the Tigers’ first four practices, including on Monday during the media’s time to watch practice. In postgame interviews, wide receiver Tyler Brown told us Klubnik had not been throwing in practice.

However on Wednesday, the Clemson quarterback was throwing the football.

“It has felt good. It felt really good today,” Klubnik said. “It felt great today. It is definitely dang near hundred percent. So, it has been great. I love spinning the football and it has been great to get out there throwing.

“It is a long season. Sometimes you just need a little bit of a rest.”

Klubnik confirmed he injured his thumb on his throwing hand during the Tigers’ win over South Carolina.

“It kind of got lodged back, but yeah, it’s great,” he said.

Klubnik and the Tigers will kick off against Penn State in the Pinstripe Bowl at noon on Dec. 27 at Yankee Stadium in New York.
